Caregiver’s Support Group

Being a caregiver impacts our relationships in many ways.  It is stressful, expensive, and detrimental to the health of the caregiver.  Signs of caregiver stress may include:

Feeling overwhelmed or constantly worried
Feeling tired often
Getting too much sleep or not enough sleep
Gaining or losing weight
Becoming easily irritated or angry
Losing interest in activities you used to enjoy
Feeling sad
Having frequent headaches, bodily pain or other physical problems
Abusing alcohol or drugs, including prescription medications

If you are in the role of caregiver, consider joining St. Christopher’s Caregiver Support Group.  The group meets monthly, currently on Thursday evenings at 5:15 p.m.  It is a peer-led group, made up of people who have walked this path.  We hope to provide a place where you can share your challenges and your laments; in confidence and free from judgment.  You can participate in the discussion or just sit and decompress with a group of people who have some understanding of the difficulty of caring for a loved one.
